Shared short codes enable inexpensive two-way, interactive text messaging between consumers and your business (or application).

What use a short code?

A short code is a 5 or 6 digit number that people use to send text messages to. Short codes cost $500-1000/month to lease, along with monthly service and messaging fees.

Given the cost of provisioning and operating your own short code, we recommend using a shared short code to start off with, since you'll be able to cut your cost by an order of magnitude. We have several different short codes that you can use (for example 839863, which spells TextMe on most mobile phone keypads). It's easy to get started - just tell us the keyword you would like to use to route messages to your application and we'll set you up with API access in a matter of minutes.
